There is a trophy, the Team Cup, for the team which raises the most money to “Bring Back the Sounds of Life”. The team may come from any company, business, club, educational institution or other not for profit organization, or simply be formed by a group of friends and identified as a Team. Consider forming such a Fundraising Team to compete for the Team Cup. There is no limit on the number of members in a single fundraising team.

Registration as a Fundraising Teams

In addition, there is a Corporate Challenge Cup which can be contested by teams of individuals associated with particular company, business or organization, or formed by any person where the group is identified to the Ride for Hearing as a “Corporate Challenge Team”.  Apart from bragging rights which go along with winning the Corporate Challenge Cup, riding as a group can be a great team building exercise.  While teams are limited to 9 riders, there is nothing against an organization entering more than one team in the Corporate Challenge Cup competition.  Additionally, a business can ask suppliers and customers and other business associates to join its Corporate Challenge Team, or to form their own.  The emphasis of the competition is on each team working together so as to get all team members, including the fourth fastest qualifying team member, across the finish line while raising a significant amount of money to “Bring Back the Sounds of Life”.  Additionally, it provides an opportunity for groups within one organization to train together and to compete against each other, and against suppliers, customers, competitors and other corporate teams for bragging rights stemming from a little friendly competition.  To see the detailed rules for the Corporate Challenge Cup, Click here.

Corporate Teams, of both types can also register through their company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) or human resources department, which may coordinate the registration and fundraising efforts. However, each team member is still responsible for contributing towards the team’s collective minimum pledge goal of $500 per rider.

Our Story

The Rotary Club of Vancouver’s Ride for Hearing is an annual fundraising event in support of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in British Columbia. Since its inception, we have raised over $3.9 million and have had a major impact on the lives of many children and adults who suffer from hearing loss.

These funds have been used to support Cochlear Implant Research at UBC, to establish the Rotary Hearing Centre at UBC Hospital, and the BC Rotary Hearing and Balance Centre at St. Paul’s Hospital.  In addition, grants have been made to BC Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hearing and Speech Centre of BC, The Hearing Foundation of Canada, the BC Family Hearing Resource Centre, the UBC School of Audiology & Speech Sciences, and the Vancouver Hearing Centre to name just a few.
