Peter Hildebrand, Partner Iredale Architecture
Developing an appropriate narrative for indigenous architecture.

Peter Hildebrand provides architectural services for several different public and private building types including commercial, residential, civic, cultural and educational. Primarily engaged with conceptual design work utilizing computer modeling, photo imaging and rendering, Peter also leads the preparation of public presentation materials, construction documents and material specifications.

Peter recognizes each community is distinct and that each structure should reflect that uniqueness. To accomplish this, Peter continuously rethinks the way buildings are designed and executed. He has been privileged to collaborate with several First Nations on the design and development of multiuse community facilities throughout British Columbia, including the award-winning Snxastwilxtn Centre and Outma Sqilx’w Cultural School for Penticton Indian Band.

Special announcements and members' moments:

  • Phil Webber - Ride for Hearing, final push. Event is this Sunday, July 10th. Excited to have included the formalized family ride as a great addition to the main event. It will start at 10:00 a.m. and will include a scavenger hunt courtesy of Phil's granddaughter, Alex.
  • Phil also shared a letter from the retiring Principal of Norquay School. This school is one we have supported with two main initiatives over many years: the buddy reading program and food support for families in need. The principal stated that our club's support has been "a true blessing", ensuring the students have had wonderful help, whether it be ensuring their bellies are full to start their day, connecting with a mentor through reading, or ensuring they had the materials to get through the trying covid times and learning remotely.
  • Bill Schulz reminded everyone of Leo Allas' memorial service this Saturday, July 9th as announced in an earlier Rotor newsletter. Contact Bill for more info.
  • Nathan Hesketh let everyone know that a RWH container going to the Ukraine will be loading this Saturday, July 9th. Volunteers to help are welcome.
Ralph Towsley, who was at lunch, and as a lot of us know was one of the founders of RWH (Rotary World Help), reminded us that RWH has send 450 containers to 61 different countries to day. A remarkable achievement!
  • Paul Martin shared that they are expecting grandbaby 4.0 any time now. Congratulations to all!
