Once we got started as a service club, we needed a way to make decisions that would be beneficial to our cause and agreed upon by all. In 1932, Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor created The Four-Way Test when he was asked to take charge of a company facing bankruptcy. Adopted by Rotary 11 years later, it has been translated into more than 100 languages, and asks the following questions:
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
