We have started work on organizing The Rotary Club of Vancouver's Annual Summer Auction Fundraiser with the added fun of a Crabfeast this year!  The proceeds of this event will go to Giving the Gift of Hearing to underpriviledged children & their families, throughout BC.

We are targeting for a $45 ticket price which includes a crab-in-the-shell n’ fixin’s picnic-table style dinner, complete with the cartoon sections of newspapers as table cloths!

We expect to sell approximately 200 tickets. At the door, we will be handing out Crab bibs, a ticket to the Oyster Shooter bar and event Memorabilia, for an additional $10.

We are reaching out to invite all of our friends who enjoy participating as bidders in Live Auction fun, as well as enjoying a group dinner such as this summertime one at the Burnaby lakeside rowing pavilion, but also to kindly request donations for the silent and live auction.

Here are some ideas which have enjoyed success at previous years’ Rotary Auctions:

  • $75- $300 Silent Auction items ie.

  • Wine or Liquor baskets

  • Home / Garden décor – paintings, artwork, patio / household accessories

  • dinner, spa, event gift certificates

  • sport accessories / equipment

Larger ticket priced Live Auction items ie.

  • Cabin / boat rentals

  • vacation/ travel packages

  • dinner packages, sporting events

  • unique adventure opportunities (last year a Boeing 747 Simulator experience at YVR was given for a group of 4), etc.

Professional Auctioneer, Tyler Olsen www.westcoastauctions.ca will be hosting the Live Auction for the larger ticket priced items, and to get the crowd going/ create lots of fun and energy.  www.western
